Report on Wild Edibles Day May 14, 2006

Four Groundpounders led by JJ made it over Heartbreak Hill behind Cape Arago this past Sunday.  It was an incredibly beautiful day.

They checked out some Geocaches laid out by Barbara and saw a variety of wild edibles.

Four Radio Patrol members charted their passage on the computer using both SAR and Ham radios.

Practice on binocular searching was conducted.  Ed proved himself very adept at this, marking all signs of human activity on a well laid out self drawn map.

On return to base, Chip gave Brian a haircut.  The public, who had been watching us with interest all day found this very intriguing.  We offered the public free haircuts, appendectomies and CPR.  We didn't have any takers.

The Astro van --- seen in the background --- worked very well as a command post with it's new customized table inside.

Bud hoped for rain all day.  Well, he was inside the van.!!!
