The Marine Patrol is staffed by:
Cpl. Will Coleman & Dep. Doug Strain

The Coos County Sheriff's boat is powered by twin 85 HP outboard engines.
It is capable of 70MPH and as shown in this photo, can make 180 degree high speed turns.


Right: A Deputy writes a
certificate of compliance.  The happy boater was found to have
all the necessary safety gear on board.  The Sheriff's Marine Patrol makes hundreds of safety inspections each year.
Boats found to be in compliance with the regulations are given a certificate and a decal for the rear of the boat.

The Deputy is a summer hire
and helps fill out the roster
during the busy warm months.
