Coos County Search & Rescue is
 a volunteer non-profit organization. It is organized for educational and charitable purposes that will promote and foster the growth of community service, and to assist through the Coos County Sheriff's Office, any Civil Defense Agency or any bona fide Law Enforcement Agency upon request.

     The Search & Rescue team conducts searches for missing persons throughout Coos County and assists other search teams during mutual aid call-outs.  In addition to searches, the team performs other duties including:

       *  Assisting with evidence searches at crimes scene.
       *  Assisting Oregon Emergency Management
       *  Assisting with community events & education.

To apply for membership in Coos County Search & Rescue, you must:

        *  Be 16 years of age or older.
        * Have no felony or criminal convictions in the last three years and not be currently on parole.
        * Have a positive can-do attitude.
        * Be willing to complete a course of training annually.
        * Be a person of good character.

The Coos County Search & Rescue Team meets at:
            Bay Area Hospital 
            (Spruce Room --- Next to Cafeteria)
            1775 Thompson Road, Coos Bay, Oregon
             2nd Monday of every month at 7:00 PM
